for children ages 6 to 9 - grades 1 to 3

Seasons of Learning is a new education option for Rogue Valley families looking for a part time alternative to supplement homeschooling with regular on site program with a small mixed age group othat appreciates a well rounded approach to education for children to expand their understanding of the world & one another.

Seasons of Learning recognizes that an active and engaging learning atmosphere filled with hands on, experiential and practical learning opportunities are essential to a child's full development. Igniting curiosity and wonder with exploratory learning experiences and unlocking their creativity is key in bringing joyful and meaningful learning. Observation and reflection are integral skills that are incorporated into all lessons. Our inspiration is based on the Charlotte Mason approach that fosters an appreciation and development of interests and deeper knowledge of nature, geography, science, art, music, handicrafts, literature and North American history. Integration of Waldorf approaches with the arts and imagination enhances and deepens learning . Both recognize that human beings are more than the intellect also recognize the spiritual in each person.
We honor and accept each person's and family spiritual beliefs, background, and faith.

Our schooling purpose is to fully utilize Charlotte Mason's and Waldorf methods to develop children as students of life to be thoughtful and insightful human beings. The skills of focus and observation are developed through daily activities with listening, drawing, and writing opportunities.

In Eurythmy, from the Greek, meaning beautiful, harmonious movement. Eurythmy was brought to Waldorf education by Rudolph Steiner.
Eurythmy can be well described as ‘visible speech’ or ‘visible music’ making that which is audible to us
also possible to perceive through our capacity of seeing through our speech and through
the sounding of the different tones in music and how
each sound reveals itself when embodied in a gesture.
Eurythmy used in a pedagogical context can bring many wonderful results when practiced regularly with
an experienced Eurythmy teacher.
The living eurythmical gestures spark the child’s imagination and fosters healthy social dynamics of the class. Through the rhythmical, musical element of Eurythmy it encourages uprightness and a harmony of movement.
The teacher has an opportunity to perceive
the child in his authentic being and offers the possibility for the teacher to work creatively with each individual child (and with the class as whole) and to bring Eurythmy exercises and artistic pieces which would meet each child where they currently are. Eurythmy engages with thinking, feeling and willing and
brings health and vigor for their healthy unfolding, so they can be properly used in their full capacity.
